Bart Starr, the great quarterback and later coach of the storied Green Bay Packers, was their leader during the Vince Lombardi era. Starr’s teams with the Packers were winners, but he offered this comment: “Anyone can support a team that is winning – it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage.”
