Lana Turner’s Views on Contemporary Film

From her Century City apartment in 1980, Lana Turner, reflecting on her great career, said, “I look at films now and I see people shoving their tongues down people’s throats and thrashing their nude bodies on top of each other. We could do more with the quiver of a lip or the shrug of a shoulder than all the nude men and women today. It was titillation. It showed a look of innocence that we never see now.”
