When they appeared together in M-G-M’s classic star vehicle RED DUST (1931), the 31 year-old Cark Gable and the 21 year-old Jean Harlow had appeared together previously, once, in THE SECRET SIX (1931).  Following their remarkable rapport in RED DUST, Gable and Harlow would be teamed in four more scorching blockbusters, including the film Harlow died making, SARATOGA (1937).  The ads for RED DUST would exclaim, “They were born to co-star!”
