Lieutenant Commander Tammie Jo Shults, former naval aviator, and now retired commercial airline captain, was one of the first female fighter pilots to serve in the United States Navy. She has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
